Flag San Marco Venice Flag On sale
The flag of the Republic of Venice with the lion of St. Mark's winged lion or lion march. This version depicts a lion with a sword in his hand and closed the book under his paw. This is the war flag of the Venetian Republic. The flag ratio is 1:2 so the size of the flag may be different from the sizes below (70x100 cm is 70x140 cm).
Finishes
Easy polyester: the finish for sizes 70x100 and 91x140 is made with a loop only.
Nautical polyester and stamina: the standard finish is made with rope and carabiner. to request a different finish (loop with rope, boat, rings, straps, hooks, or other), please write to info@flagsonline.it).

The Lion of Saint Mark represents the evangelist St Mark, pictured in the form of a winged lion holding a Bible, is the symbol of the city of Venice and formerly of the Republic of Venice. It appears also in the merchant and military naval flags of the Italian Republic.
Venetian tradition states that when St. Mark was traveling through Europe, he arrived at a lagoon in Venice, where an angel appeared to him and said "Pax tibi Marce, evangelista meus. Hic requiescet corpus tuum." (May Peace be with you, Mark, my evangelist. Here your body will rest).
