Réunion Flag

The regional flag of Réunion is known as Lo Mahawel and was designed in 1975 by Guy Pignolet, an engineer from Sainte-Rose. The flag is composed of a truncation in the echelon, colored red, representing the Piton de la Fournaise and the strength, from the tip of the red pyramid are depicted 5 rays of the sun representing the sun and the population of the island, the whole is composed of a blue field representing the sky. Reunion is a French overseas department from 1946 on 19 March. Reunion Island is located east of Madagascar, in the Indian Ocean. The proposed flag is produced in 100% nautical polyester, one of the most resistant materials for flags.
