Elizabeth II Standard Flag

Elizabeth has held titles throughout her life, as a granddaughter of the monarch, as a daughter of the monarch, through her husband's titles, and eventually as Sovereign. In common parlance, she is The Queen or Her Majesty. Officially, she has a distinct title in each of her realms. She has received honours and awards from around the world, and has held honorary military positions throughout the Commonwealth, both before and after her accession. The Personal Flag of Queen Elizabeth II as Head of the Commonwealth is used in Commonwealth of Nations countries which are not Commonwealth Realms. The flag was created in 1960 and first used in 1961 for the Queen's visit to India. The flag is the crowned letter 'E' in gold, surrounded by a garland of gold roses on a blue background, with a golden fringe. The crown is a symbol of the Queen's rank and dignity, whilst the roses symbolise the countries of the Commonwealth. Her Majesty has a personal flag for five of her other realms and uses this flag for the others. So far only Canada has created flags for other members of the Royal Family, in their case The Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge.
