The flag of Bolivia was adopted in November 1851. The red and green were the colors of the old flag of 1825. The red stripe represents the blood shed by the heroes for the birth of the Republic, the yellow represents the wealth and natural resources, while the green the richness of nature and hope. The State flag of Bolivia shows the emblem in the center. The crest has been modified July 19, 2004. The day of the flag is celebrated on August 17.
