The Colorado flag was adopted on June 5, 1911 and was designed by Andrew Carlisle Johnson. The flag is made up of three horizontal colored bands (starting from the top) in blue, white and blue. In the central band there is a red "C" and inside it a golden disk. The symbolism of the colors is very rich. The blue represents the sky, the yellow the sun, the red the earth and the white stands for the snow-capped mountains. On February 28, 1929 and March 31, 1964, the General Assembly of Colorado codified colors and details of the flag, in particular it was decided that red, blue and white should be the same as the US flag and that the diameter of the golden disc were of equal height to that of horizontal bands. It was also established that the width of the stroke of the letter "C" should be equal to the radius of the disk contained therein. Colorado is a federated state of the United States of America. It borders to the north with Wyoming and Nebraska, to the south with Oklahoma and New Mexico, to the west with Utah, to the east with Kansas, in one point it touches Arizona. It is called Centennial State because it became a United States federal state in 1876, one hundred years after the United States Declaration of Independence. The capital and most populous city is Denver.
