The flag of Campania consists of a blue background with the emblem of the Campania region in the middle. The symbols of the Campania Region are the coat of arms and the banner, approved and adopted in a final version with the Regional Law of 21 July 1971, n. 1. The flag, however, was introduced in the first half of the 70's of the twentieth century but has never been made official. The emblem of the Campania region has as its emblem the one that gave the maritime Republic of Amalfi to its beginnings. Said emblem is made up of a red band in the white field. In reality, the emblems of the Maritime Republic of Amalfi of the twelfth century were blue with the white Maltese cross. The flag with red bandra in the white field was of the municipality and appeared in the thirteenth century when the Maritime Republic of Amalfi no longer existed.
