The East Turkestan Republic flag. This Country had indipendent life for a very short period. This was the Islamic Republic of the Uyghurs or East Turkistan, Uyghuristan, and Uyghurstan. The Republic was founded by the Uyghur People of the South Sinkiang during an insurrection against China and it was in use from 1933 until 1934. The light blue is the color of the Uyghur while the crescent is on of the symbols of Islam.
