The flag used today is divided into two parts: the left side, corresponding to 1/3 of the length, has a white background and presents the small coat of arms of the Principality; the right side, corresponding to 2/3 of the length, is made up of 18 alternating horizontal bands in white and blue. The current coat of arms of the Principality of Seborga seems to be a Savoyard institution (circa 1760), since it has a crown of a royal type and is very similar to that of the House of Savoy. The bottom of the shield, which is red for the coat of arms of the Savoy, is blue here, perhaps to postpone the fact that Seborga is located in a maritime area or perhaps because the Savoy bought the village from the monks, who resided on the sea near the islands of Lerino. The coat of arms features a blue Samnite shield with a white Greek cross, surmounted by a royal crown, surmounted by a crown.
