Kyrgyzstan or Kirghisia, officially the Kyrgyz Republic is an independent state of Central Asia. It borders on China, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan and has no outlet to the sea. Since 1936, under the name of the Soviet Socialist Republic Chirghisa, it was a federated republic of the Soviet Union until 1991, when it became independent of the Soviet Union, since 1992 it is a member of the United Nations. The flag of Kyrgyzstan was adopted on March 3, 1992. It consists of a red field with a yellow sun with 40 rays in the center, representing the 40 Kyrgyz tribes. On the front side the spokes are folded clockwise, counterclockwise on the back. At the center of the sun there is a red ring crossed by two groups of three lines, a stylized representation of a traditional Kyrgyz yurt.
