The flag of Valser or Walser (from the German Walliser, that Wallis, a resident of the Canton of Valais), a population of Germanic origin (Germans) migrated for the first time around the eighth century the area of the Upper Valais canton Bern and a second time, during the XIII century, from various parts of Italy in Valais, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Austria. Walser houses are in Pedemonte (Alagna) Ossola and Val d'Aosta (in the valley of the Lys and Val d'Ayas).
